Anal fissure is one of the oldest described diseases, the same one that, up to now, has had multiple treatments, both medical and surgical, and there are controversies in its therapeutic algorithm. It constitutes one of the pathologies whose diagnosis and treatment corresponds to the Coloproctology Specialty, affects both sexes and at any age and can be acute or chronic.
We propose this Protocol for an adequate management of the pathology, so that it serves as a guide in making correct decisions based on evidence and the consensus of those of us who are part of the Coloproctology Technical Unit of the Carlos Andrade Marín Specialties Hospital (HECAM).
