Abstract

The present work is based on the document: "Urological Management of Myelomeningocele" from the Pediatric Care Guidelines, of the "Juan P. Garrahan" Pediatric Hospital in the city of Buenos Aires - Argentina; of the authors: Dr. Carol Burek and Dr. Liliana Campmany.

In the Pediatric Surgery Technical Unit of the Carlos Andrade Marín Specialty Hospital (HECAM), some 50 to 70 patients with neurogenic bladder from birth to adolescence are treated per month. It is a chronic disease that requires a correct diagnosis with imaging studies and urinary tract function, as well as subsequent daily management by parents with the guidance of a specialist doctor.
